For over 45 years, lifelong equestrian Kathy Weiss has created safe, serene, and professional environments where horses and riders thrive. With equestrian facilities in Carbondale, Colorado and Thermal, California, Crystal Springs Ranch offers premier boarding, lessons, training, and tack services.

Founder Kathy Weiss began riding at age 5, and has since built a career as a rider, champion competitor, instructor, and entrepreneur. Her journey has included creating a saddle shop, developing and operating equestrian facilities, competing hunters & jumpers coast-to-coast, Canada and Mexico. Nowadays Kathy rescues horses and promotes land conservation. Today, she brings decades of expertise and care to Crystal Springs Ranch & Saddlery and Crystal Springs West.

  • Numerous USEF National, Zone 8, Colorado Champion and Horse of the Year Awards

  • 8-time HITS Thermal Circuit Champion in Adult Hunters

  • Winner of the Amateur Owner Hunter Stake at Madison Square Garden

  • Active member of USEF, USHJA, CHJA, CWJHA, and Roaring Fork Horse Council

  • Certified coach with the American Vaulting Association

Kathy continues to split her seasons between Colorado and California, bringing a legacy of excellence, passion, and care to everything she does.

    Ascendigo’s Ranch Program provides both children and adults with an individualized horseback riding experience. Participants are given the opportunity to develop a personal bond with horses, while learning the skills and knowledge to become true equestrians.
